The Futsal World Cup for Deaf Veterans +40, which was postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, will take place in 2022 in Warsaw, Poland.
Poland selected as hosts of the Veteran Futsal World Cup +40. The tournament will be held in Europe for the first time since 2022. The decision was made at a meeting of the DIFA Council.
The World Cup will be held from 12 to 20 August 2022 in Warsaw, Poland and will be the first competition under the auspices of the DIFA.
Futsal World Cup 2022 schedule:
The draw for the preliminary and main rounds will take place in June 2022 in Warsaw.
Regulations of the futsal tournament-2022 will be announced later.
24 teams will take part. They are divided into six groups of four teams each. The format for such a number of participants in the tournament is familiar – the teams that finished in first and second places in their groups leave the group.
In the quarter-finals, cross to cross (first place with second), representatives of groups A and B, as well as C and D intersect with each other.
The draw, the opening ceremony of the World Cup, the semi-finals and the final of the competition in Poland will be broadcast by the TV channel, and you can also watch all the play-off matches live.
“Members of the DIFA Executive Committee are pleased with the support we received from Dorota Ognicha, Deputy Mayor of the City of Warsaw. State support and the ability to host major sporting events were the key factors that allowed Poland to become the venue for the Veterans Futsal World Cup +40,” said the President of the International Football Association of the Deaf Iakov Frenkel.
I would like to thank the members of the Polish Deaf Sports Association, especially Mr. Jarosław Janiec, for the support we felt during the inspection in Warsaw. This was great! Incredible support that keeps everyone moving forward.
